I was cruising around online and I see that there is an engine block heater that is available for my 03 TL. Do you think this is something that will prolong the life of an engine or is it primarily for those situation when it is so bitter cold that your oil is either not going to flow or not flow properly (whick in turn isn't good for an engine)? It got me thinking about it because it's beet between -15 and 0 the past week here in Wisconsin.

If the oil is good there is no need for it.(maybe way up in where it gets even colder) I never used one on the TL and it never had a problem starting. There is enough protection durring cold start ups so i wouldnt worry about that. The best thing you could do is atleast switch to syn in the winter. It flows alot better. Especialy in the cold. Mine starts like its warm out and there is no valve tap from lack of oil that you can sometimes hear

there are a few from wisconsin ( +1 with you now) . Not many. Id be cool if we could all get together.

There is one in my area thats same color as mine but it has a kit on and rims, custom grill debadged and more but isnt on this forum. Id like to catch up to them and tell tehm to come over to the forum.

 

yeah, we should get together some people over a weekend sometime! I'm obviously new to this forum and new to Acura. It has stolen my heart and lovin' every bit of it!
