Well i heard its not a good idea to paint them in the night time because of the moisture outside. But good luck anyways. Post pics.

Painting is ALL about the prepwork
Scuffing and cleaning the surface
Using the products others have used
Doing it right!

can't wait ot see it, I don't have to finances to do anything major right now. So once it warms up a bit and I can clean my car I want to paint the engine, battery cover and calipers. The first of some of my mods.
Curious to see the pics though.
Do you have pics of the first two attepts too?

its very important. Taking your time and not trying to do it all in 1 or 2 coats is also key.

sanding the engine cover and using a high build primer, then sanding it all smooth to get rid of the rough texture also makes it look ALOT better

looks really nice
Now you just need to get out the small scrub brush and detail the engine compartment to match the shine of the covers!

NICE! Looks great. (Not to be picky) but the only thing that stands out is the light blue washer cover. I'd say if you got a little extra paint, top it off with that too.
It looks great either way! Can't wait until it warms up here so I can get mine off to paint.

I heard the "AA" Energizer is pretty good. Go for pretty cheap and last awhile. I say you give it a shot and let us know how it goes.
