Electrical / Wiring Help for Footwell Lighting Mod

Ok, so I tried to do the footwell lighting mod. I think I found the power source that I am supposed to tap into. It's a green 4-pin connector with a blue-black and black-white wire. Well, I was unable to "tap" into this connector so when I gave up and put it back, the dome lights would not come on. Now they are never turning on, even when I lock / unlock the car and all other lights flash. Can someone tell me what went wrong? Also, if someone knows, please post detailed directions on how to install the lights. Apparently it's not as easy as I thought it would be.

Ummm, I believe it's

White/Blue(white wire with blue stripes/etc) = positive

Black/White(black wire with white stripes/etc) = negative

I guess you found the correct 4 pin connector on the passenger side fuse panel. Nevertheless, I'm not sure how you tried to tap the wires but make sure you did not cut the wire completely, and secondly, make sure the connector is fully plugged back into the panel.

I hope you didn't connect the wrong wire and fry something ....check these the above mentioned things out and see if there is a fuse that is blown out :crossingfingers:

General tip when working on modern automotive electronics......USE a "multimeter" to check the wire your tapping is the correct one. Never use a test light (a cheap light bulb tester) and possibly start probing ECU wires and such.

Good luck.
