EGR port cleaning with thermoblocks installed
I have to clean out my EGR port again. It's been about 75k miles since last time. Can someone remind me if I will need to order replacement gaskets since I have thermoblocks. I don't remember if themoblocks replaced the original gaskets or not and if they were reusable.
Also should I bother replacing fuel injectors or would that be a waste?
Backstory is my TL has vibration at idle in the steering wheel that sometimes goes away and bad mileage lately. Seems to be less powerful as well. Replacing motor mounts, spark plugs, and coil packs didn't help. I've seafoamed and techroned and sprayed cleaner in the throttle body. IACV was replaced a few years ago. Idle RPM is steady but there's vibration.

What brand spark plugs did you use? OEM NGK Iridium works best in these engines.
What brand did you use for the rear motor mount? OEM is expensive but really the only option if you want a vibration free steering wheel at idle.
Metal gaskets can be reused as mentioned above

Possibly, if they're causing the engine to run rich from the addition of extra fuel that is not needed. You'd likely know from the exhaust smell if you were running rich due to a fuel pres. regulator because it would be a complete failure and it would dump in a lot of fuel to the point you'd smell it while running.

So I did the EGR port cleaning and it solved the vibration but now the car has idle issues surge and an on/off high idle. I've been through 3 IACVs and can't find any obvious vacuum leaks and have bled the coolant plenty of times. I've reset the ECU several times too. I never took the throttle body off so I think it might be the intake manifold leaking. I reused the OEM metal gaskets on the bottom, but have no idea where to find these green paper gaskets. ALso should add my mileage is way down but this could be from the car idling and being test driven around the block a lot.

I might do this but first I'm going to try to keep the spacer and reseal it with 2 OEM gaskets. So the spacer will be sandwiched between 2 OEM gaskets. The outlaw plastic spacer is in good shape. I think the paper gasket just got soaked in too much carb cleaner. I'm trying to avoid installing a the taller p2r spacer because I don't want to redo the studs. If it doesn't work I'll have to try to make a custom paper gasket or might just go down the p2r route. I have a wonky idle when revving in park neutral but the computer does a great job holding it smooth most of times and some antifreeze smell. Mileage has gone way down too because the O2 sensors are richening up the fuel mixture.
