E-Brake light

I've noticed lately that in the mornings, or when it's cold (Florida cold, <50 degrees) out, my E-brake light will stay on for quite some time. I never use the e-brake, so I know that it's never on. My integra used to do the same thing on cold mornings too. Is this something I should worry about? It doesn't seem to be causing any problems.

it ususally stays lit when your brake fluid is low.

Its not the E-Brake light meaning something is wrong with the e-brake. Take teh brake fluid cap off and check to make sure its at the proper fluid level. Also clean the part where the brake fluid float slides up and down to make sure its not getting stuck causing the light to come on

If you are low on brake fluid, consider looking at the brake pads for low remaining life, if they are down, the fluid goes into the caliper further- making the res low so you know it!

ah, that makes sense. Is there any reason that the light would turn off after a while? Does the fluid expand enough when it's heated that the float slides up enough to turn off the light?

My car also used to do that in the cold. Last winter sometimes I would drive and and it would come on when braking or other times it would come steady for a few minutes. This winter it hasnt done it at all and now it diffenently wont I dont think because now we cleaned out the extra spot in the garage and my car is parked in there. However I know I got the brakes and rotors changed on 12/20 and it has been outside and still nothing. I think maybe my sensor was just stuck and now its fine.

Its most likely getting slightly hung up due to lower temps and that when off the pressure in the brake system will relax slightly and cause the float to move. Pull the cap off and clean it and make sure it moves freely. Its happened to many members.
