I am looking to put a dual battery system in my 99 and was wondering if anyone had done this before. I was having trouble on placing the second battery, as I would like to keep it in the engine bay. I also was wondering where I could find a good High-output alternator.

I'm running a 2000 watt system, with no caps, stock battery and alt., absolutely no issues. Maybe 05 TL electrical is more robust. If anything you could probably get away with a single stinger or kinetics (sp?) battery and "maybe" a cap...I think 2 batteries is overkill

There is no reason to add a second battery unless you are planning on running your system for extended periods with the car off.

A ho alternator along with the "big three" upgrade is your best bet. Caps are a bandaid to a weak electrical system.

what he said ^^

what im thinking is that your battery is probably just shot.. or not good enough.

Get a good battery and do the big-3, if that doesnt fix your problem, then replace the alternator with a HO one.

Dual battery is totally, i mean REALLY unecessary in your case.

lol.. im running a 600watt amp as well with no problems with all stock components. you only need to step up to a bigger alternator when your pushing 1000 + watts of RMS power.. and if someone tells you to buy a cap, just use that cap to smack them upside the head..they are useless.

my sub amp is 1250 and speakers are 700.... and it sometimes dims my lights, barely now that i put in my cap.... but once i do the big three and a yellow top im sure ill be ok

you should be more than alright. do the big three or maybe your amp is really inefficient
