Drove a TSX

I drove a TSX yesterday because of my frustration with the rotors on my car. I'm not really sure what I expected out of it, for some reason in my head I was thinking it was going to be this super fast smaller car. I have to say, after driving it, that I was not as impressed as I had hoped to be. The handling was great and it is a very well put together car, but the power is just not there. I don't know why I expected it to be, but it wasn't. I guess now I'll need to see if there are any more 2003 TLs new still out there. The salesman tried to claim that they fixed all of the rotor problems starting with the 2001, but there are people who are having problems with their 2003s on this board, correct? I guess I should have taken the one they offered to me for 26,500 back in Sept.

Put a blower in the TSX and it would become a superior car.
Not sure if anyone makes SC or TC for that engine.

Did they replace or just resurface and new pads?

my good friend had a 2002 when they first came out, he had rotor problems and they replaced them with new pads and slotted & cross-drilled rotors.

the previous owner of my 2002 had problems (im assuming) because i also have slotted & x-drilled rotors.

If rotors are the only reason you're thinking of getting a new car, why don't you go with better aftermarket rotors? It'd be cheaper than buying a new car and I bet the braking performance of your car would be improved as well..

I believe the Prelude was a 4cyl with 196 hp. The TSX is larger with approx the same engine. I believe the handling is amasing but not untill it has a engine to at least match the Mazda6 (220hp) and they both, the Mazda6 and the TSX are six speed manuals.

With a larger engine, perhaps a "TSX Type S" in a couple years?

The Prelude has 195 hp in the automatic and 200 in the manual. The TSX has .2 liters more displacement and better low end torque with more refinement in noise and vibration.

The TSX I-4 is more refined than some V6's though definitely not as good as Honda's V6s.

I just had my TL Type-S in for a tranny replacement and was given a nice white TSX loner for the week. Yes, the handling is nice and the materials quality is superb but surprisingly it did have rattles as well. The car had a very audible rattle on the left driver's window and the right passenger door. And some others in the rear as well. In fact, I had to turn the radio up sometimes just so I didn't hear them.

Needless to say, my TL-S with a few rattles (most of them were fixed) didn't seem too bad after driving the TSX for a week. After the week, I realized that Made in Japan vs. Made in US doesn't really matter as both cars felt just as solid (with some rattles as well). Just go look on the acura-tsx board and you'll see that the TSX has just as many rattling problem as our TLs do. And I still love ACURA no matter what. Both cars are excellent cars. The 2004 TL, however, drool....that's all I can say...
