driveshafts

i am getting a horrible buffeting from the front
of the car when i left off the gas.

not thru the steering wheel..but the car shakes.

not during braking....i can feel it during acceleration a little...it is really bad when i let off the gas..

there is a slight crunching sound also..
it is horrible.

dealer said it is probably the 1 or both driveshafts.
a friend said it might the torque converter lock.

should i have the dealer fix this?

anyone experience this?

it's a 99 tl with 87k.

depends on what it is. if its teh half shafts or a bearing it may be cheaper to go somewhere else. if its tranny related you may want to bring it to the dealer. the motor mounts may also be shot causing teh feeling you are getting
