Driver Side Floor is Wet ?

About a week ago i got into my car after work one day, dropped my keys in the floor, reached down, and noticed the carpet & floor mat was wet, very wet actually its still pretty damp ,i live in jersey & obviously its cold out now so i dont really use my AC (even summer time i barely use it lol!), i do turn it on once a week for a little bit just to keep the fluids moving keep it fresh... i just had a friend of mine check the AC lines and its NOT leaking,.. he said he doesnt know what else it could be.. Any suggestions?.., i really do not remember if it was raining or not the night before, but absolutely nothing else in the car was wet except for the drivers floor mat and carpet undeneath.. NOTHING was spilled either lol, absolutely positive on that <-- wet Rug smell is not pleasant lmao

I had a huge puddle of water on my driver's side carpet too.. It hasn't rained much here lately, so I don't really know where it's coming from...

Is it water? Could it be the sunroof leaking?

Happened to me too. It turned out to be the sunroof drain tube. Check this by taking something long, thin, fairly stiff and running it through the drain. I used weed eater line. I found that the weed eater line was wadding up around my brake pedal, find the drain tube and route it where it belongs. It may be broken or disconnected, just repair and route. The hole for the drain is in the corner of the sunroof, visible when the top is open.

Another way to clear the sunroof drain tube is to drop the headliner, unplug the hose and first blow with your mouth to see if its clogged. If it is clogged use a compressor to blow any blockage out. Also have a friend listen under the car as well as around the area where the floors wet to see if the tubes draining into the car rather than out threw the bottom of the floor.

Its possible that when installing an alarm or new speaker wire the drain tube may have been pulled on and is now disposing of the water into your car. You could also put water down the tube to see where it drains or if it soaks your floor again

Two things related to outside water intrusion.

1. The suggestion posted by the guys above.
Sunroof drain line disconnected. Pretty normal for cars with sunroofs.

3. Windshield not sealed properly.
Mine for some reason (probably the previous owner who had the windshield replaced didn't seal it right) started leaking at the base close to the VIN number.

From my knowledge there aren't any A/C lines and doubtful any heater core lines running through there. But don't discount engine coolant leaking into the cabin. You would probably smell the difference though.

Until then throw a heavy bath towel on the floor. It will help wick the water out of the carpet and prevent new water from getting there. Change often. Wet towel is better than wet carpet.

To test the windshields seal spray compressed air around the inside of the windsheild and have some one outside the car feel/listen for escaping air. There should be none! removing the cowling may help. Spraying soapy water around the edges of the outside of the windsheild while spraying compressed air inside the car around the edges would also visually show you where the leak is

I had this too. I figured it out by pulling the carpet back on the drivers side and spraying water on top of and under teh car. I finally found it coming in under the car. There is a Frame rail plug (near a floor plug)that is covered by sound material. Mine was leaking under that and water was making its way out soaking the carpet. I would suggest pulling the carpet back and spraying water under the car and see if you can see if it comes in.
