Redline d4 ok for 2003 type s?

As the title says...

I have searched, but cannot find the answer. I see lots of 04 TL posts recommending Red line D4.

I am new to these cars, mine has high miles as well. I am worried because i went to buy some red line D4 to do a 3x3 and the guy told me not to use that in my car.

Anyone on here have any problems using red line D4 in their 2nd gen?

z1 might be found on the dusty shelf of an import parts store

DW-1 is the new atf from honda and used by many on here

with high miles-how many miles? original trans or replacement?
whats your fluid history change?

a 3x3 on very old fluid can wash away needed crud holding the clutches together!

see post on redline by I hate cars,,,our local oil expert

ck what the atf looks and smells like on the dipstick, pink reddish atf smell = good
black brown,, burnt sugar smell- do a 3x3 asap

Note it will drain between 3 and 3.4 Quarts at a single drain
measure amount removed,(pour old oil into empty gallon oil jug)
9 qts wont do it 3 times~
running the TL trans low of fluid is begging for heat problems in the clutchpacks

Note- fluid level on dipstick is ckd after 15 minutes freeway drive- from cold
BETWEEN the dots is correct, not at either,,between

ck for blue paint on the trans bolt heads- if present you will see them as soon as you open the hood and look
thats a warranty replaced unit,,so at least its less than 200--is that in Klmeters?

at that mileage I would stay on honda dw-1,,its working well for gen2, from reports so far
sell the redline to someone with 50kmiles on a rebuild,,or a different trans that isnt so picky about the fluid

other fluid/suggestions for your service:
DOT4 spec brake fluid, special bleed/flush order on TL= LF/driver front, then RF RR LR
due to abs plumbing
PS fluid use honda brand, place cardboard under front wheels to make it easier

see our diy section for help

DO remove the engine block drain for coolant (which gets changed with tbelt/wp job)
was the `every 7 years or 105kmiles = timing belt/water pump job` done?
thats the most critical thing right now
iirc the book says coolant change 5 years or less after that initial 100k run
after that the additives turn acidic and eat the aluminum

Canuks are supposed to do the 105 earlier (60kms) if its really cold winters in your part of the country--temp and age are the rubbers enemy
Canuks please note we often use `Kmiles` for usa cars,,if you would please specify what format or convert for those too lazy or too young to have learned the metric system-thanks

Does anyone else remember 1972 and the dual measure/distance M/Km road signs across the usa?
when they tried to mass educate... the masses,,
