door pillar help.

I was wondering if anyone can help me remove the door pillar? I want to repaint them due to the cracking. My car is under warranty but I'am not old enough to take home a loaner. Any help would be great. Thanks

I want to take it off because the door trim has two bubbles in the tape and I want to flush it out.

Just how old are you??

If you're under 25, they will get you a rental car instead of an Acura loaner.

Acura of Troy won't give me an Acura loaner 'til I'm 25, but they always get me rental cars from Enterprise or Thrifty. Better than nothing. Take your car in for service and ask for a rental car. The whole reason they set the age limit at 25 is for insurance purposes; however, if they got you a rental, then the rental company's insurance will cover you.

Don't re-paint your door pillar trim. I just went through this myself. I took it to the dealer and told them it was cracking. They replaced all 4 B-billar garnishes no questions asked. All they are is plastic snap-on pieces. They are around $33 bucks a piece plus screws and clips.

I didn't know any other palm beach acura car owners were on this board. I had all 4 of my 02 TLS Door Pillars replaced free of charge there. I am only 24 and they wouldn't give me a loaner since I wasn't 25, total BS. But whatever. They did however rent me a car through enterprise (who complained at first due to my age). They have no problem selling me a $30,000 car, but wont give me a loaner. Oh well.

Anyways, for any of you with your car still under warranty the Door pillars are covered. And I'm always willing to talk with other TL owners in west palm.
Good luck guys.

i looked through 22 pages of 'acura tl' stuff and nothing came up. its funny because it's exactly what you are looking for and i saw it a few days ago before you posted this. i'll make sure to let you know if i see it.

also, if you decide to take it to the dealer, have one of your parents or someone 25 or older go with you yo get a loaner or a rental.
