Exclamation Door lock Problem (Car is apart and need help ASAP)

Ok, here's the deal:

long story short, installing a remote start/security system and shorted out two pins in the 4-wire, green harness on the passenger side fuse panel that has the door trigger wire in it. The symptom i have is that the DOORS WILL NOT LOCK but will unlock when the key is in the ignition, however will work fine (lock and unlock) when there is no key inserted. i checked EVERY SINGLE FUSE on the driver side, pass side, and egine bay boxes and ALL are fine. PLEASE I NEED HELP FAST or i will dirve my car off of a cliff (a cliff in FL that is).

thanks in advance for ANY help.,

That's a safety that the TL has..it comes from the factory like that. Unfortunately I am out of state for the holidays so I don't have my ETM with me or I could tell you how to get around it...but yeah, it's not supposed to lock while the key is in the ignition so you don't lock your keys in the car. Not sure why you would need them to lock with the key in the ignition anyway, unless I am just misreading your post.

Well, I don't want to say that you're going crazy..to young for that. Maybe you just never really noticed it. I know that's how my car is, can't lock it if the keys are in the ignition. As for the domelight, check if it happens with all the doors. So try opening each door individually and see if you get the same result. If you get the same result on all 4 doors individually then it's somewhere in the wiring and I wouldn't know where to start. But if it only happens with one of the doors then check the switch that is on the car that the door makes contact with to turn the light on/off. Good luck.

I wonder if it depends on the year because my doors will not lock when the key is far enough in the ignition to get that annoying beeping noise. The locks will go down when I push the button but they just pop back up after less than a second. Can anyone else confirm this on their car? Maybe it's just when the car is started.

Is it only the driver's side that doesn't work remotely? If so, there is something wrong with just the wiring in that door. Don't know much about it off the top of my head but I can look in my ETM when I get back home after the holidays.

If the door is open and the key is in the ignition, the door switch wont lock it. If the key is in the ignition the remote wont lock the door. If the key is in the ignition and the door is closed the door lock switch will lock it

The dome light switch has to be at the center position in order to light up
when any doors opening. To the left will shut the dome light permanenly and
to the right will light it up permanenly .
Make sur U switch to the center position and test it ,OK.
Good luck

yep...went out and tried it on my car and that's the same results I got. Make sense...still can't lock your keys in the car if they are in the ignition, but you can lock them if you are in the car driving through the ghetto.
As for the domelight...that's all I can think of. If it happens with all the doors and the switch is in the correct position, I have no idea other than just reading out all the wires.

Sounds like it's in the wiring then. Wish I could help you from here but I'm out of state and don't have my ETM with me. When I get back after the holidays, I'll see what I can find.

Haha, AMAZING HOW I ALWAYS END UP LEARNING SOMETHING NEW ABOUT MY TL EVERYTIME IM ON HERE!!!! GOTTA LOVE THIS FORUM. Its great. I was just wondering about my keys getting locked in the car while my car was running. I didnt close the door all the way in fear that the door could possibly lock with the key in the ignition. BUT HEY, COME ON NOW, IM DRIVING AN ACURA. OF COURSE IT WOULD HAVE A SAFETY FEATURE
