Door Actuator?

Okay.....so my drivers side rear door will only lock/unlock manually now. I can still hear/feel a motor trying to move the rod, but it's not strong enough to finish the action. Is this the actuator that I need to replace?

pull the door panel off and check for restriction or worn out plastic parts

Lube the window channel rubber with silicone lube- helps movement

Pulled the panel off and lubed.....all plastic parts that I can see look OK. I'm afraid it's what I can't see.
I guess what I need to know is if this problem is indicative of the actuator going bad. I don't want to replace the wrong thing.

more then likely it is going bad, but also make sure to lube the inside of the latch assembaly itself, but also how is your door adjustment/alignment which might cause unessecary forces on the latch

also how 01tl4tl said "lube the window channel rubber with silicone lube- helps movement ", it is so your window rolls up and down easier, cause it is alot easier to do while the door panel is off (and helps lower the stress on the window regulater too)

besides the actual track the window rolls down on, spray the silicone lube on the rubber seals for the doors- trunk and hood- spray on a rag and rub on where needed

Also use some detailer spray wax on the painted metal parts those seals contact
Will prevent sticking closed in freezing weather
Havent done mine this year and sure enough its a hard freeze warning this week! oops

dave- if there is a discount auto glass place in the phone book- drop by there and ask for an opinion
They are usually working with a junkyard for used glass and other door parts as needed
They will know what you need and can probably get it- and install it- for a reasaonable price
