Post (don't know if its OT) Problem with dealer...help!

Today i brought my TL in for a secdule service. I did not stay in the dealer, but instead went to Chapters next door. As I was coming back from Chapters, I saw my TL driven away. WTF???? The car was out for approximatly 10 whole mins. When my TL was back, i was expecting them to say something about the "Drive", but they did not mention it. Is it normal for them to take your car out without letting you know????

Please help as im in confusion.

Thanx in advance....Geo She

I'd say this is NOT Off-Topic at all.

What service was it? If they did something that included an alignment (like the 15K service), I think it would be normal for them to test it on the road, but still not for 10 minutes.

Unless you complained about something that happens when you drive, there really isn't another reason I can think of that they should take it out.

I can tell you that if I saw my car leave the dealership, I would've been all over the sevice department asking WHY!?

Maybe Wayne can shed some light for you.

Was it close to lunch time? May have run out for Sonic's brown bag special.

It is necessary at times to road test a vehicle- either to comfirm a complaint or to verify a repair. If is was in just for an oil change then -no. things like alignment, tire rotation and bal, squeaks and rattles or performance problems- yes.

Yup, they do take your car out for a drive if you were getting the alignment.

Did you check to see how many MILES they drove for? They drove for 10 mins cuz it was trafficy?? I duuno, check the mileage and see how far they drove. If it is not reasonable, you should file a complaint w/ their office.
