Does water kill the CAT. ????

Just curious, a couple months ago my cel came on for a faulty catalytic converter and I went and got an aftermarket one installed for about $215. Well I was visiting someone at there apt and it was raining pretty bad outside and the parking lot flooded. When I went outside water was up to my door and another half inch and it would have been on the inside. So i moved the car to safe ground. Well obviously water had to get in my tail pipe and about a week later my cel came back on with the Cat. issue again. Could the water have caused my cat to go bad?

Doubtfull. did you ever replace the 02 sensors when you replaced the cat?

I didn't replace the sensor. Would a sensor code be thrown or would the cat code come up?
