I know the accords do, buy I don't remeber seeing it on the TL. Why?

 

The TL does have a tailiight warning light in the instrument panel.
I was having problems with it after I changed all the tail/stop/tag light bulbs in November. I use my lights as DRL & notice that after 2years a tailight had went out. It did not give the indicator at first
but when I changed all bulbs it did. The bulbs need to be pushed into the sockets tightly.

 

There's an indicator for the brake lamps. It will come on if your brakelights aren't working. Take a look at your owner's manual

 

It's funny though, that Honda didn't hook up the 3rd brake light with brake-light failure warning light.... so, if you find your taillight bulbs burn out, make sure you check 3rd brake light as well just in case....

how about the general rear light, not the break light? The last time my bulb went out, not the break light, the indicator did not come on in my dash.

Good question... I was pondering about the same, too... and the light failure warning light is not hook up with 3rd brake light is really surprising, IMO.... To me, light failure warning light should be hooked up to ALL exterior light bulbs(it does on my 1992 S-Class.... ANY exterior light bulbs that went out would lite up warning light...except license plate lights)....

I know i hate that, the only way that i knew was that one day my friend was driving behind me and he told me, and the wierd thing was that i had only had my car for a week and a half and if burned out that fast.

 

The "brake lamp" warning light on the dash will only come on if one of the brake lamp filaments fails and a brake light goes out. The module attached to the wiring harness checks resistance on the circuit and when a bulb goes out, the resistance changes and the warning light comes on. It will *not* come if a tail light is out.

 

what's the easiest way to replace the brakelight bulb?
