Do they always replace engine computer when replacing tranny?
As I stated in an earlier post, my car is getting a new tranny due to failure. They called and told me it's ready to be picked up but that I have to bring all my keys b/c they replaced the computer inside too.
I know it was brought up before that the new computer might have a "less aggressive" program too. My question is for all of you who have had replaced trannys: Did they replace your computer to?
I don't mean to come off paranoid or anything, I'm just really curious.
Thanks in advance for the replies guys!

they replaced my tranny and ecu, didn't need my keys for anything. but makes me wonder if I should try my other keys.
it's standard now for them to replace both ECU and tranny. I think when they didn't replace the ECU the trannies continued to fail multiple times.
My dealer mentioned something about the ECU keeping the tranny in 3rd gear too long and burning out the clutch packs prematurely. Don't know how reliable this info was, so take it with a grain of salt.
Don't worry about the power. My TLS feels the same if not more powerful now. However, it does seem to VTEC about 100-150 rpms later than before the ECU change.

P = Powertrain (transmission)
E = Engine (I think you know what that controls)
