Do I hold the new record now???? transmissions

I'm going this saturday to installed my "4th" trasmission on my 99 TL. I currently have 88k miles. Lucky me they extended the warranty??? I hope. : )

First "Original" sencond at "38k" miles, third "47k" miles, fourth at "88k" miles, is not the Honda fluid sinceI had redline hightemp fluid since I got the third transmission. that means the red line high temp doesn't help either, I think is just poor quality or the power rating of the trasmission is overrated.

PS the third tranny was not acura's fault : ) just a bad acura design.

Whats all this crap about people's 99 trannys going out on them.... I thought it was only 00+.... i'm gettin paranoid over here! I've got 66,000 miles on the car, and no problems yet. I hope it stays that way.

I thought if the samething breaks 3 times in a row, the car is consider lemon and the dealers is obligated to buy it back......no?

damn you are scaring me about the 99TL tranny dying. i thought this thing was suposed to last. im starting to notice that the overdrive gear after 4 stick sometimes causing the RPM's to hang at at like 2400 while going like 60MPH. then at random the OD gear will kick in and it goes down to 2000rpm. what are the symptoms.. i have 88k miles!

I believe the Lemon Law has to come under certain miles.. This guys had his car for 3 years and 88k miles.. I mean if it was a year old it would be a diff thing but its a OLD Car now, I dont know... If the dealer does buy it back what does he pay u? KBB Price or Brand New CAR Price?

Hey, if my tranny goes in my '99, im fine with that. I get a '02 or '03 TL/CL for a loner, and my car gets fixed. and we ALL know how we treat loners MWAHAHA

:::drives at 60 in second gear. for 100 miles.::::::

I am on my 3rd, with my 2002 TL and 36,000 miles. Copland is on his 4th and he got his lemmoned, but I think his is newer than your 99.

Why when your car is covered under the extended warranty?

Yeah this is the first time I've heard of the '99 trannys failing. So if the tranny on my '99 breaks, would it be covered under the extended warranty? I thought only newer TL's were covered under this warranty

Our 99 TL's are NOT covered under the extended warranty! But if you b i t c h and raise hell then they'll probably consider it. I know a few 99 TLers got Acura to cover them.

Goin through 4th tranny? I have a 99 TL and have 80,000 miles on it and not a single problem, if you are goin through that many problems, and not THAT many 99 TL owners are, I think its the operator, NOT Acura. Try takin care of the car.

I think you have reasonable doubt to file a suit. Think all the hours/days you were unable to drive your car. That is just wrong!

I thought the tranny issue was for 01+ Tl/CL. Man, I would have dropped that car after the second tranny. I got a 00 TL and am crossing my fingers!!
