Question Do Comptech springs lower the car TOO much???

I am wondering if you guys have scraping problems, or any other problems with the springs. I used to have an Accord with Sprint springs and a 2" drop and I scraped all the time and had to go in and out sideways all the time. So basically I do not want to make that mistake with this car.
Thanks

The only springs that lower less than the Comptechs are the H&R O.E. Springs.

Has anyone got a good review of the H&Rs?

AS in ride quality, handling, install issues?

I notice the Comptech springs ride pretty well, but get a little bouncy on certain surfaces, any one have comments about the H&R or other springs...

The H&R sprots springs are good....i never rode in a TL-S with comptechs, so i can't compare them. But you have to give the springs some time to settle in. At first they were a bit bumpier, but now...it kinda feels smoother...either that or i'm so use to them. THe H&R Sports springs would lower a TL about 1.75 in. , but when i put them on my TL-S, it was more like 2-2.75 in. I can fit one finger width between my tire and the fender. Handlins is great, installation should be the same as comptechs. But the way lot of the board memebers describe the comptechs, i regret not spending an extra $100 to get them.

DITTO, no problem with the sport springs and body kit. Can't give input on the comptech springs, I do like the H&R's they are a great all around ride.

Remember, the H&R Sport Springs will lower more than the Comptech's whlie the H&R O.E. Springs will lower less than the Comptechs. If you're worried about grounding out and still want springs H&R O.E.'s are the way to go.

I just had my H&R Sports installed recently and the ride is slightly bumpier. It lowered the car approx. 1.75" all the way around. It has a much meaner stance.

I have Comptech's and no body kit. Sometimes I scrap when leaving parking lots and pulling out onto the road. If I go slow, no problem - but sometimes you gotta move.

Make sure you get a good alignment if you drop. The dealer who did mine didn't do it right and I ate my front tires in about 5 months. Although, this was an exception to the usual experience of others on the board.

I have the comptechs, with 18's and a body kit and I dont scratch. If its a steep hill or something yea I'll have to go at an angle but besides that im good. i have about a 2 finger gap all around. Ive only had the springs for about a week, but i know thier suppose to settle a little bit more

I have the comptech springs, but no bodykit. I have not scraped, and I have hit some nasty dips and bumps on the roads here in Houston. (some at fast speeds) And no problems!

No scraping problems with the Comptech springs. I have the underbody kit on all but the front spoiler. However, do be careful pulling into parking spaces with the concrete parking bumpers. They will really mess up your front end if you hit them.

I haven't had any scraps or scratches with the comptech springs & the body kit. I will advise you to keep an eye out for large curbs though, don't want to take any unnecessary chances.

Tell me your secret! I scrap at least once a week leaving work. It is a pretty nasty dip. But its not the only place. I have Koni shocks, so I wonder if I dropped more even though I told the dealer not use the low perches?

Ahem, sorry Got PSI, but I believe my TL has a meaner stance! I have H&R Race springs, and it's 2.2" drop front, and 1.75" drop rear. I would think that my ride is more bumpier than yours as the race springs are at least 50% stiffer. Cornering at high speeds is unbelieveable.

taking off with springs

this might have been asked but since our cars are FWD does springs help when taking off from start? I hear stories of wheelspin when we floor it but how about with the springs, it should help put the power to the ground shouldn't it? Does anyone know!!!

correct me if I'm wrong...but I would say highly unlikely

engine generate power to the front axal causing tire to rotate. The tire generates centripetal acceleration to creating horizontal moment. springs provide vertical movement of the car and therefore is not affected.
wheelspin is due to the power to accelerate is greater than the kinetic friction (friction at still) of the rubber.

These are my Physics knowledge from a while back, please let me know if I'm wrong.

hummm you have a point, but dont you think that if they have stuff like anti dive/squat is just like having stiffer springs? Say we get springs they will mostly likely be stiffer right? so the physics of all the weight shift can kinda be cancelled...i was thinking that with the springs it might help in less squat and help the car put more constant weight over the front tire as compared to stock when the car will squat under hard acceleartion. Thats why RWD drive cars are at advantage when they take off all the weight is pushed to the back over the rear wheels which help them plant more power to the ground.....correct me if im wrong but i still think it might help, anyone with spring who have notica any difference?

Not sure man. Luck maybe? But I just have comptech springs, and maybe whoever did your shocks did it too low? I know my drop was pretty much 1.5" front and back.
