DIY on IM cleaning????

i really need one....anyone have like a real step by step on how to do it??

well there are 2 posts 1 by me and 1 by another. They are very straight forward. its just a matter of removing all the cables and hoses to the IM, then removing the bolts that hold it inplace.

If your worried post pics as you go through the process and we will highlight what needs to be removed for you. The 99 is just a little different then the other years so the cleaning will take a little longer.

I thought doing my 99 IM & TB and installing spacers was easy and it didn't take very long. hardest part is getting those damn collant hoses off the TB and putting them back on.

yea thats probably the single hardest part due to location of them. I would rate the whole project a 1 out of 5 on a difficulty scale. every thing is very accessable and easy other than the coolant lines to the TB

reused mine twice. Just lift every thing straight up and look for it getting hung up as you take it off so that you dont damage it

i told my mechanic about cleaning my egr, he looked at me like i was retarded...... how is this done??

you really dont clean the EGR itself. you can clean it up with a little carb spray but thats not really cleaning it.
