Disconnect battery / nav and radio?

So, the manual says the radio freaks out with no power, and i assume the nav system is the same.

I need to take my battery out to install a new fan...

Are the nav and radio systems going to function?

I bought the car used, I do not know the "pin"

I suppose i could call Acura... But those guys are.... well..

less than nice. (can i say douchebag on here?)

I don't have NAV, but I know you'll need the Radio Code for sure. The radio won't let you do anything unless you put in the code after disconnecting the battery.

I think you can call Acura and give them your VIN and they can give you the car's radio code? You could also go here: https://radio-navicode.acura.com/

I think if you have your key in the "on" position and press the 1 and 6 on the radio while it is off, battery connected, it will show you the serial number

You don't have to disconnect the battery to replace the fan, The positive wire is not live so no fuses will burn up just make sure the key is not on and the engine is cold. As for the codes look in the owners manual sometimes the code is written in there or on a card.

Well, to take the fan out i had to.. I don't know how to say it. "Gank it out?" It didn't fit between the battery and the radiator return, so i just gave it a good pull.

To put the new one in, either I need to take some snips to the batter protector, or remove it.

No, it's the drivers side fan. I pulled everything clear, but it was bumping the radiator return on one side, and the battery plastic protector thing on the other.

If it's that big of deal I'm sure my dremel tool can figure it out.

Not yet. I called the previous owner, who had no idea what I was talking about. I am procrastinating on calling the dealer here in town.

The numbers are on the side of the radio you will need to remove the wood panel on the passenger side to reveal the serial, open the center arm rest and pry up the plastic wood trim once off the numbers will be on a white sticker.
