Drivers side front window does not work. How can I find out if it is the switch or the motor that is not working. When I press the window button nothing happens - I dont hear the motor trying to turn. All other windows work find. Thank You in advance.

 

If all the other windows work normally, ya need to pull the driver's door interior panel off to actually see what's wrong.
Check the connectors and then test for power at the window motor while activating the switch.

 

Thanks I will try that first. Also my SRS light is on - I saw a link that showed how to reset it. But when I pulled the fuse panel I could not find a yellow connector to pull off in order to place the paper clip into. Which connector is it? Thanks in advance.

 

It's up under the driver's side dash. Look again, as ya have to be a contortionist to get at it.

 

Wow - found it - your right - dont think my back will ever be the same. Had a hard time putting the paper clip but after 10 tries I got it - thanks again for your help. I have a good DIY link to replace a 2nd generation window regulator - dont know where the DIY links are or how to find them. If you can - try to post this link - very detailed:

Sometimes it takes a bit of persistence along with some patience for DIY 's !!!

But the end result of having done the job yourself and saving a shitload of money makes it all worth the while.

 

There are a couple things you can try to narrow down your diagnosis before you remove the door panel. First, turn on the dome light, and watch it closely while you try the switch. If you get a slight dimming in both directions, the switch is probably good. You can also test the switch by pulling the small panel that it sits in and accessing the connector underneath it. Beyond that, you should check it at the motor as 3.2TLc mentioned to rule out any broken wires in the door hinge area.
