Ding Removal Kits

Anyone purchase this thing from TV? It's like 30 or 40 bux....it's a kit that supposedly pops the dings off your door. Does it work? Does it work only on small dings or deep ones?

If you don't want to worry about making the dings in your car worse, take it to a professional body shop.

Well, I know ppl who does Ding removal and I've taken my car to him in the past. It's just that he charges around 50 per ding, and the kit itself costs on 40. So, I know such thing exist and bodyshop does rip you off over a small ding. That's why I wanna know if fellow TL lovers here if they ever bought one Thank you for the input though.

I have heard of some ding remover kits that do work but since I'm not a body specialist...I leave it to the professionals.

From what I've read those 40-50 kits on TV work on big dents. As for smaller ones, creases, etc. I think you need to handle them differently. I think Wurth makes a kit for like $400 or so which is more universal. It's more intended for those who do paintless ding removal as you'll make your money back with a few jobs.

got it guys Thank you...yeah...I've been going to this professional guy who works at an Acura shop privately for years. I just wanted some quick fix for ones I dont find too difficult to repair. But, I'll take it to a pro. if the ding is on a creased up part of the car. Anyone else's input are welcome....

I'll pick one up this weekend and share the experience with everyone.

Bought the Ding King @ Wallyworld to try on my Jeep. I pulled the majority of a healthy dent out of the door starting with the middle of the dent and gradually working around it.

It looked only fair to middlin' when done. Lots of ripples that could be seen pretty easiliy from an angle.

I wouldn't recommend it for anything but a beater. Most definitely not the thing for silky smooth TL skin...

The Ding King also leaves a nasty residue. I know a friend of mine used it. You have to put a silicone glue on it and then it really difficult to get the glue off. I wouldnt think it would be good for the paint...

Recent Consumer Reports (the one with the upscale sedans - TL; February I think) had a page on the dent removal kits. OK for medium size dents with no paint chips, creases, etc - but not as good as the pros.
