difficulty making the mesh grill
I've followed the instructions that people have posted, but have had a lot of difficulty trying to put the gutter guard mesh over my front grill.
Seems like the protrusion of the black plastic that the A emblem mounts on just bends the whole grill out of shape. I haven't been able to cut out a shape of grill that would fit and allow me to reassemble the grill pieces.
Am I supposed to cut away holes in the mesh so the black plastic grill alignment pegs can go through? Any additional advice? I've heard that this is a really simple procedure, but I've had a lot of trouble. Arggggh! The frustration of it all!

I learned the hard way that the best way to do this is to make a template using cardboard or some other heavy paper. If you don't want to do it that way, put the mesh against the inside of the silver frame (with the emblem and wing removed of course), and trim the mesh accordingly. I trimmed it so that I could put all the screws back in, although some people just put in whatever they could get to fit. You will have use a little force to get it all to fit. Just don't overdo it.
Try tar paper - its a thick black "paper" you can get at Home Depot.

i know this may sound very weird but what i did is measure the acura grill(ag) i believe 4 in.x13 or 14 in.(measure again), get the gutter gaurd(gg) cut out the recatangular shape 4by14 in(or whatever the size is). place that rectangular gg over the ag, then start triming lil by lil, the ag has a thin rubber strip towards the edge of the plastic trim all around. trim gg so that it will be shorter not running out the rubber trimming. i find it easier this way than tracing and cutting. now those lil pegs your talking bout you have 2 choices :cut THE WHOLE back plastic trim or just leave it and place the grill over it. both ways work so if you want to leave the plastic trim just either bend or cut where the pegs come through. it wont be noticeable once the FAKE chrome thingy goes on. those pegs actualy guides and hold the plastic trim in place. i decided not to cut the plastic trim, just in case i need to change it back. i heard someone say it was $130, not chump change to me.
hope this helps buddy!

Mine was a BIATCH to put on. And I screwed up a bit around the edges. Just take it slowly cutting and measuring, cutting and measuring. For the center, just use your snips to cut out the metal blocking the holes where the "A" emblem goes.

I made a template out of poster board and then taped the template to the grill material and trimed around it. Came out perfect the first time.
And, yes, I did have to cut the protruding center peice out of the black plastic to make the grill fit properly. I also painted the center metal hood frame peice flat black so it could not be seen behind the grill. This weekend, I will cut the rest of the black plastic center out because it can be noticed behind the grill in certian light and angles.
Oh, one more thing: if you're going to trim the black plastic, the best tool for the job is a Dremel type tool using a cutting disk on the lowest speed. Then a sanding barrel can be used to smooth out the cuts.
