the strut bar connecst the struts from the top (in the engine bay and if u had one in the back it would be in the trunk)

the sways connect the struts from the bottom (under the car)

go with comptech they're really nice. (strut and sway)

sways help the most for handling.

hope this helps

correct on the rear sway being the most worthwhile for our cars. the front strut bar really doesnt do much, but if you get sways and lowering springs, you should get the front sway also to complete the deal and get the most out of each part. I do not believe you can get a rear strut bar for our cars...I could be wrong though.

ya or just a rear sway and maybe a front strut bar. is your car lowered? If so that will also help in cornering, but not as much as new sways.

I just installed my Sway bars..and it handles great. But if you want top of the notch stuff...you gotta get coilovers and sways. It's the best combo...It's where you'll feel the tight cornering, and laugh at the bimmer's. =)

while all around handling is important, IMO getting springs (Eibach pro kit) and a front tower strut bar (Neuspeed) will be sufficient if you don't have that much to spend. while you car is already lowered and IF you have aftermarket rims, the negative camber in the rear will make up for the rest of the handling in terms of staying on the road and not fishtail or wipe out.

but he asked about STRUTS not a strut bar. struts are your shocks. the springs go on the struts(shocks) teh strut brace- is the black bar you see that goes across teh engine from one side to the other near the firewall. the oem one is pretty good. for the best handeling new struts with lowering springs is best, then get your self a set of sways, wich will further aid in keeping the car level around corners. if you have no intentions of lowering the car then get teh sways first. then upgrade teh shocks down the road.

yes they help. they are what helps keep the car level. every suspension component does something. and none by them selves do it all. tires also play a important role. but like i said, none do it all they all just help out

Eibach Sways and a neuspeed front tower brace w/ lowering springs or coilovers would be a very good handling upgrade. Thats what im doing this month.

I would get Sways..and Struts with lowering springs. That would be the best bang for the buck. That's what I have...and yea it makes a difference in handling. But I think I've been testing it too much..lol..I hear some noises when I do a very sharp turn. I need Coils.

Start off with lowering springs and sway bars. Eibach Pro-kit lowering springs, and Comptech sway bars.

Handling will be dramatically improved. And if you want to enhance it even further, then sell the springs and get coilovers.

That's what I'm doing, as my Tein SS and EDFC are on their way, and I'm selling my H&R Sport springs.

One step at a time.

Struts = springs/shocks

Sways = anti-sway bars

Struts will will help your car absorb the bumps better. Sway bars will keep your car from rolling as much going around corners, or keep the car flatter.

Not knowing the exact handling characteristics of an Acura, the rule of thumb is that if you add stiffer or lowering springs, you will need better than OEM shocks.

Also, again depending on the handling charactericstics, adding stiffer front sway bars may actually make the car over steer. Although on a FWD car like the TL, it understeers from the factory (IIRC) so a little more oversteer may not be so bad.

You will be fine. The stock struts should last quite a bit longer, so go ahead and put the lowering springs on, then save up and get a coilover kit when the struts wear out.

Usually when the car does not settle right away after hitting a bump or a dip and keeps bouncing up and down, it means the struts are worn out. If you ever see old POS bouncing up and down like it's on hydraulics after a hitting a bump on the highway, then you know what worn struts will do to the ride.

Exactly what Pure Adrenaline said. I got my springs when I had 70k on the original shocks and I have 80k now and everything is all good. It may be better to get it all done at the same time, but if money is an issue, dont worry about it.

well my GOdfather is installing them for free...
but i read on here people said once they put on the Springs the shocks blew right away? is that possible?
im putting on Eibach's (2.1 in the front and 1.6 in the back) and i also have a heavy system... i dont have a camber kit on hand either.. will my Godfather be able to remedy it by a wheel alignment or should i just wait till after winter (though the front wheel gap is killing me right now). Thanks a lot guys.

you will probably need a rear camber kit with that drop. Not like your car will fall apart if you dont get one. Just install the springs and drive them for a while then get the camber checked. Dont wait DO IT NOW!!! your car will look so much better after you do.

and where did you read that on here about someones shocks blowing right away? Ive never read that, and no its really not possible.

the shocks wont blow up . they should last awhile, unless they are alread bad. (probably not, i have 164,000 miles on mine and just lately ive been seeing that they are starting to get worn out)
you will need a camber kit for the rear. the only thing that will happen if you dont is you will wear out the inside of your rear tires more quickly until you get one

will i definitely need one?
and how long does it take for the significant wear to show? say if i drive around for like a month (i dont drive much) without the camber kit, will it show severe inner wear?
would this suffice? http://www.seffects.com/parts/EIB581260K.htm

how long after installation and how mcuh does it cost to go to a shop to check the camber afterwardS?

thanks a lot! i really appreciate all your patience and time.

95% you will need one. Some cars react differently. You can go to any alignment shop and they can tell you your camber. Yes that camber kit looks good enough. Think about it, how long do tires last? 20-60k miles. So it would take a while to show. And you could even rotate the front to the back to get some more miles out. But for a small price you can get a camber kit and never worry about it.
