I got my AEM V2 installed a few months ago by my mechanic. I'm positive he didn't disconnect the battery and reset the ECU (all my radio presets were still there). Does this make a difference?

I got the intake installed soon after getting my TL-P... And since then, I've noticed that I get 25mpg on the highway and 13-15mpg locally. I have no idea what sort of gas mileage I was getting before the intake. Is it possible that the intake is causing my crappy gas mileage?

Resetting the ECU is always optional as the ECU will adjust over time. Are you sure it's not:

1. Your driving habits changed (sometimes just to get the sound)
2. Your tires are low on air
3. Your air filter is ok
4. You've tried different gas stations

The tires are fine... I've been going to the same gas station my whole family has been going to for years.. never any problems. The air filter.. i guess it's clean? The thing at the end of the CAI right? It was clean when I installed the CAI.. can't imagine it getting very dirty in a few months. I'm going to try a fuel system cleaner and see if that helps.. I noticed that I've been getting some hard starts - twice I've had the engine fail to start with a normal amount of cranking time, and sometimes I have to hold it a little longer than I would normally.

My Icebox air filter is supposed to get a cleaning every 6k miles (it's foam). I do it every 5k - with the oil change. I know that most CAI's use the oiled gauze type filter (like K&N) and people tend to use standard K&N type cleaning scheduled for that - something like 50k?

I don't think they're right, since a CAI filter is exposed to quite a bit more junk and water than if it were in a OEM nice airbox. You might want to check it just to be sure.

It doesn't matter. The ECU would make adjustments on its own over a course of only a few days.

I don't know why people expect higher gas mileage after a CAI install. You're sucking in more, colder air. That means you're leaning out the air/fuel ratio, and the computer would compensate by adding more fuel. This means lower gas mileage. Now, if it dropped by like 5 mpg, then yeah, there's something very wrong. But expect to see a drop of a few mpg. Mine dropped a couple, at least.
