Diagnostic Codes, Help!
Diagnostic Codes, Help!
Question for anybody -
My check engine light came on the other day and I took it to Autozone for a free diagnostic test as the dealership charges you $80 for "piece of mind" as they put it.
The codes that came up were 1607 - Malfunction in the PCM internal circuit, auxillary inputs/outputs
and
1457 auxillary emissions controls, leak detected in the EVAP Control System.
Has anyone ever come across these? Do you think I should just suck it up and take it to the dealer? I understand sometimes it can be as simple as screwing the gas cap on tighter but I was just wondering if anyone came across these codes before and what they did to resolve the situation.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sorry to tell you the bad news but all the TLs I have seen with this code have needed a PCM and no you cant swing this one on your own. Only yor dealer can replace it seeing as you need the Honda Daignostic System or PGM to repalce due to the fact that your car has the immobilizer funcion in it.
