Dealer says they cant do recall
I called Acura Car land today because the recall on the ignition switch. But they said that they probably wont be able to do the recall because my TL is from canada. Is this true?

Are you residing in Canada with the TL? Then yes. Acura Canada and Acura US have different policies. An imported vehicle looses its warranty as stated within the owner's manual. If however you are traveling between the two countries then your warranty work can take place (however, there are limits as well).

Q. If I move to the United States with my Canadian Acura, will the manufacturer's warranty be valid in the U.S.?
A. Technically, as is stated in the Warranty Guide that is provided in the glove box of every vehicle sold, the manufacturer's warranty provided by Honda Canada Inc. is only valid for vehicles that are "normally operated in Canada". However, American Honda will provide warranty coverage for the applicable warranty period if you fax or mail the following documents before you move to the United States:
* A copy of a current Canadian driver's license to show proof of Canadian residency
* A copy of the Canadian Bill of Sale, which must have the VIN, selling dealer name, and engine number
* A copy of the Canadian permanent vehicle registration. Temporary registration is not acceptable.
* A copy of the current vehicle registration in the United States.
You must contact American Honda Acura Client Services (1-800-382-2238) to determine if the above applies in your specific case, and if the warranty provided by Honda Canada Inc. can be applied to your situation.

I called American Honda Acura Client Services and they couldn't do anything for me. They just gave me the number for Acura client services of Canada. I called them they said that i have to get my local dealer to call acura of canada and they should be able to take care of this at no charge.
