I took my car to John Eagle Acura in Houston this week and was amazed to find hardly any cars on the lot. I wonder if Acura is really doing that well everywhere - especially in light of the economic downturn.

 

They are actually doing very good with the TL, TL type S and MDX.

 

I talked to the dealers in Houston when shopping for our TL earlier this month. A bunch of them told me that besides the normal demand a toon of people are having to replace cars damaged by the flooding recently. But when we got ours in Dallas, they had to ship one up from Houston. I'm not sure which dealer though.

Man! When I got my TL in 99 I had to go TO Houston to get it because the only dealer in Austin said there was a one-month-long waiting list. I was just at David McDavid's Acura (still the only Acura dealer in Austin) last week for service and they had a handfull of TL-S' and maybe ten or so TL's.
Oh, and they have a Taffita White 2001(I believe) TL with the "Comptech package," factory spoiler and factory body kit that they've been trying to get rid of for at least 6 months (I saw the same car there in Feb.)
Anyone in or near Austin, looking for a deal might want to hit them up.
I'm not sure what exactly they mean by "Comptech package" though, I think the guy said exhaust + headers.

My co-worker bought his 2002 TL about 1 to 2 months ago for $30K out of the door! I think that's a very good price since you guys/gals said that the dealers are running out of cars!

 

Yea, but from all of my past research you could always get a better deal on a TL in Southern CA than in TX. And I am assuming that your co-worker bought his car in SoCal?? Am I right, bachviet?

Yeap and the dealer offered the TL-S for around $1500 more but he didn't want it since he said that he doesn't need the sport suspensions + the power (260 horses)!

You ALWAYS need, or at least, could use more horsepower!!
I almost wish I would've waited till this year to get a new car, so that I could've gotten the TL-S!

Yeah, it's the same way here at my dealer.... They have a very few amount of CLs, even fewer TLs (they usually sell the inbounds in a few days). They never have any MDX's or RSX's, they're presold so far ahead that one never slips through to the lot.
