Question De-badging?

Will someone please tell me why an Acura owner would replace the Acura badges with Honda badges?
Yes, I KNOW Honda makes Acura...
And before I get a bunch of hate replies let me just say I'm NOT knocking it, I simply don't understand it.
I'm yet to see a Lexus with a Toyota badge on it......

no its a honda thing. Since you know Acura are Hondas, and all Acuras in Japan are Hondas. So to represent the JDM craze, people sport the H emblems. Its just for looks, just like a lip kit. You dont need it, you just do it to look cool. I would rock a H fron grill and rear elblem but its too expensive and I dont justify doing so, but I would rock it if somebody gave them to me.

no.. you'll see more lexus with the toyota counterpart badgings..

and acura with the honda counterpart badging...

same with the Infiniti G35 to Nissan.

but its really what you want...

i just wanted to stick out from the crowd with my saber grill.. wouldn't make sense to have a H in the front and A in the back...

personal preference...

Fobstylez - I'll be the first to admit, I'm a noob mayne!
So please pardon my ignorance.
Did you say all Hondas in Japan are Hondas?
So they don't have an Acura line in Japan at all??
Did not know that! Thanks!

I hope to get some pics posted of my ride (03 TL) on here soon.
Needs a bath tho!!

MOST of the acura line is made from japan..

RL = Legend
1st Gen and 2nd Gen TL = Inspire / Saber
RSX = Integra
TSX = Accord Euro-R

CL, MDX, RDX... 3G TL + was never there..

Its been so long, I want to say its all a marketing thing. Acura's are higher end cars and are considered to be superior to Hondas so on the marketing aspect, they can charge more for them here. If honda american came out with a Honda over 40k, I highly doubt they will do well, sell it as an Acura and its gold. Its funny cause I've seen Japanese folks sport Acura logos, but then they are also the ones that throws up crappy american body kits instead of rocking their pure goodness they have there.

It's a trend of what is called "JDM" or Japanese Domestic Market... basically that the grass is greener on the other side (Japan, vice versa US). It makes the car "unique" in a sense, unless everyone does it lol.

USDM is not as popular in Japan though. They released the "Lexus" name just a few years ago in Japan, but they (LS, GS, etc.) are not as popular as they hoped it would be, since they already have the Toyota Crown and Toyota Celsior (which was the JDM version of the Lexus LS and replaced by the Lexus LS name)

For instance, the 2nd gen Infiniti M35/45 is sold as the Nissan Fuga in Japan. Although I haven't seen it done in the US, some M35/M45 enthusiasts make the change.

More popular conversions in the US would include Honda Integra badging on the Acura RSX, or Toyota Altezza badging on a Lexus IS300.

Others include, but not limited to:
Infiniti G35 - Nissan Skyline (V35/V36)
1st gen Infiniti M45 - Nissan Gloria/Cedric
Nissan 240SX - Nissan Silvia (with some differences)
Lexus GS - Toyota Aristo
Inifiniti Q45 - Nissan President
Lexus GX - Toyota Land Cruiser Prado
Lexus SC - Toyota Soarer
Lexus ES - Toyota Windom

A no no would be if the someone puts JDM badges on a stock car... nothing is JDM but the badges.

The Acura UA4/UA5 is specifically the Honda Inspire/Saber 32V, depending at what dealer you buy at in Japan. Japan tends to have models with smaller engines not available in the USDM, like the 2.5 liter J engine in the UA4/UA5
