i was able to pick up a j32a2 with 20k miles for $850 and its been lying around for months now. im starting to gather parts for the 6 speed but money has gone to more important things and i said to hell with it i'll do half now half later
sooo i'll be installing
1. j32a2
2. thermo-coated comptech headers (bought used in the bm)
3. UR pulley set
4. mugen thermostat and fan switch
5. P2R 4" intake
6. drilled + slotted rotors + new pads
7. SS brake lines
8. Progress Rear Sway Bar
9. moog endlinks
labor will cost 212.90 for a roundtrip ticket from cali for my cousin who is a mechanic
he arrives on the 20th of this month so work will begin that week

Its been a long, long time since i've looked at the connector pin-outs for the base vs. Type-S.
BOth auto-ECU's have 5 connectors, 2 running to the engine harness. The other connectors (maybe not all 3) are going to have wires in different locations for the same components, and you're also going to be missing some of those components (IMRC controller for example)
To be honest, I'm not 100% sure if the harness connectors are physically shaped the same, but most likely are. I know for a fact the 6-speed ECU and Auto ECU share none of the same connectors, not sure about the auto vs auto-S.

^---Also I think I messed up on the number of connectors to what, its been a while. I think there are 4 connectors, 3 to engine/tranny

i was told by Kris that the wiring would probably be were id have some trouble but nothing that wouldnt keep it from being undrivable. thats why i made the thread so i can get this worked out
Oh no, it will DEFINITELY be drivable. Just telling you be ready to either re-pin a few wires or simply cut and switch a few. The only ones you should have to touch are the the ones to the dash.
thanks!
i really appreciate it man thanks!
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLPPPPPPPPPP
been searching, cant find the torque specs, putting everything back in tomorow morning
just need for the crank pulley, pressure plate, tq converter and tranny :surrender
