was makin a left waiting for the oncoming cars to go, but by the time they were all gone, the light was yellow, goin red then i made my turn when out of no where i see like 4/5 flashes .....took me a bit to realized what just happened.....god damn those cameras r stupid......thinink bout takein a bat to it oneday or some spray paint.....hehehe

 

yeah, thats part of teh risk of driving, but I'd wait to see if they actually send you a ticket. While technichally you were in the intersection at the time the lights turned red, you may have a case if you argue the fact the the lights are not set up properly so it was not possible for you to clear the intersection, especialy with oncoming traffic running yellow. Besides, since thhe cameras are st up to shoot the direction the lights just turned red on, it may not have gotten your car info b/c you were turning.
overall those red-light cameras save lives, so I'm not sure about the bat part. all of us are guilty of beig more andmore aggressive in our driving, and quite frankly these cameras are just a response to aggressive drivers running reds (not you). I hope the ticket never comes to you tho

 

I hate those cameras too. They have them here too, however, whenever they put up a new one the local paper puts it in so you know where it is. Ive never seen anyone hit on with a bat, but there is one by my house and someone actually cut the pole down! lol

Last Sunday, I was making a delivery to St.Barnabas Hosp. in Livingston, NJ. The light by the ER takes like 7 minutes to turn green. No Kidding, I'm not exagerating this. And I had to get back to the store to pick up more deliveries so I was in a rush. I saw a truck and another car behind me. I didn't think the truck was a cop, so I turned left on the Red light and next thing I know it was a freakin cop flashing his lights. So I pulled over.

He walks up to my car(my father's 95 Accord). I rolled down the window, and then the cops starts to yell at me. He was like "what the hell are u doing?" why did u just make a turn on that red light?

I was so confused at the time, and he asked me for my lic, reg + ins. So I gave him my lic and stuff. He looked at it and asked me how old I was. I told him, and then he said. You know what I have somewhere to be I'll send u the ticket thru the mail. Then he speed off. I haven't gotten the ticket yet. I hope I never get it. sorry for the long story.

Man, I got hit by one of those too! There is one stretch of street that has like 3 of them. I got busted once on my first day of my new job some time back. I didn't want to be late so I ran the yellow light. I guess I was too slow, and didnt make it. Anyhow, like a month or so later I get this letter in the mail, with a perfect view of my tag and car. Man those are nice cameras

yeah, but that should be my last one, hopefully.

Try flying up to a light and actually stopping... I was racing up to a light in the C5... slammed the brakes right before the light and the thing thought I was about to run the red light... FLASH! We'll see if I get the ticket

Yeah, like someone suggested, wait till you get the actual ticket in the mail. In CA, the picture must clearly show you as the driver as well as the front license plate. If either of them is not clear, I think you can beat it in court.

 

Has to show the driver too?? Man, I think MD needs to learn a little bit from Cali. I got busted and you cant even see the back of my head.

THere are even some cameras in VA that will actually re-time the lights if it senses someone running a red light.. so there will be accident prevention.. now that is pretty cool....

I know when I was in England and they had photo radar... most of the time those things were out of film from what I heard... cross your fingers and hope the thing is out of film... although.. I think most of these are digital anyhow
