damn megan headers..
my megan headers are now completely busted
i mentioned last time that megan headers were sitting lower than the stock one and i keep on hit the downpipe
now it makes REAL loud rattling noise
so this week i tried to replace just the original down pipe but it didnt fit
shame on megans!

mine are working perfectly.. I had to use some liquid gasket on the header/cat connection to ensure a leak free bond.. but other than that.... mine are great... sorry to hear about your situation... how can the stock ones not fit back in? it's not like hitting the headers will move the entire engine position.. hence thw stock headers should fit right back on.... odd?

what is this liquod bond? i think i need that because my mechanic said that the stock cat was kind of rusty, and this may be causing the resonance when it was attached to the metal gasket of the new headers

is that rattling noise coming from the hanger of the down pipe?...kuz the hanger doesnt fit in the stock mount...the rubber in my mount was broken kuz of too much stress n the hanger was sitting on the metal part...at low rpms it rattled...but i fixed it with a temp solution...heavy duty rubber in the mount...getting it permnamently fixed by a muffler shop really soo tho...

Of course your stock downpipe wouldnt fit with the aftermarket header. They are different designs. The megan header is a little shorter and the downpipe is a little longer comparing to stock. Would you try to fit 4 114.3 on 5 114.3?
The part about the rattling, the header or downpipe itself does NOT rattle. Maybe you should check your cat pan or bushings surrounding your pipes. Many threads about this. Many members apologized about blaming on the header when they figured out that its the cat pan or a bolt came off. But it is true that the hanger fits really tight.
Not sure about the shame on megan part. Your car is dropped with h&r. Im lowered two inches and last time I checked(a week ago), my downpipe is still fine. Maybe you should learn how to drive a little slower around speed bumps and potholes.
The header doesnt just bust on itself. You ran over something. Tired of people blaming on parts when they take no responsiblities on their own driving habits or themselves.
