Damn Dirt Hauling Trucks!!
Damn! I hate those dirt hauling trucks. If you're driving behind them and they are carrying any dirt or gravel, it comes off the truck and hits our cars. I was behind one this morning and looked at my front bumper. Paint chips everywhere! Man. My car is black, and most of the front bumper is white now because the paint chipped off. Sucks dude. I might have to repaint my entire car now. Money saving time.

It happened to the car in front of me and he got the truck pulled over to claim damages. Did you happen to write down the license plate#? that is just in case you need to file a claim.

Funny how they usually have a sign in back of those gravel/rock trucks saying that they are not reliable for any damage to your vehicle. Drive at ur own risk... I try to say away from those as much as possible but rock chips can't be avoided.

I was in Atlanta the other weekend and was driving on 400 and low and behold there was a dreded gravel truck on the road with rocks bouncing all out of the back of it. Three of the rocks came up and hit my windshield and put 3 little holes in it. Two are in the little tinted part at the top of the windshield but ones is right smack in the middle. I called the number on the side of the truck and to my surprise the owner was really cool about it and I am actually going in to a local glass shop to have the new windshield put it on Monday. I am excited because I already had one little hole that was starting to spread so it all worked out nicely!

my dad was behind a gravel truck in his beater legend and it ended up dropping a lot of its load. Showered the car with gravel, he said it sounded like heavy rain. The old paint held up pretty well though. SUcks to hear that you have to repaint the car. Did you get the guy's license plate? I think you could have taken it to small claims court.

but seriously they should either be sued or at least have a cover on top of there trucks so they have the gravel/dirt/sand covered up so none can fall off... and if they say they are not reliable for any damage then there should be a law suit going on with ALL companies who have those kinds of trucks. i mean what would happen if a whole bunch came falling out and hit a cars windshield, broke it and got the driver injured...
