Angry Damn Battery died..

This has been a expensive week, hot my intake, headers, and now the battery died. I just spend 189.99 on a damn battery....But on the bright note I got a good battery. Ended up getting the die hard platnium, it actually better than the yellow top on paper.

Hmmm ... I have not checked my battery nor the manual to see how long the battery *should* last, but when I had my 2003 TL-P inspected last week, the tech told me that I needed to replace my battery since their tests showed it was near the end of it's life. I am 99% it is the stock battery that came on the car in '03. I didn't think that much about the battery issue, since the Honda dealership told me the same thing for 1.5 yrs about my battery before I finally replaced it.

However, I was considering replacing it before an upcoming 7 hr road trip next week ... what do you folks know about the stock batter? Is it only a 48 month battery?

The dealership is just trying to get you to buy a battery from them, they told me in November of 2005 that my battery was looking bad by their tests. It wa the stock battery and know what, I'M STILL USING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do plan on replacing it soon though, not in any hurry.

I will replace the battery when I notice the starter is struggling to crank over the engine.

Otherwise I just keep on using it.

Dont wait that long or expect other big expensive problems

A battery must do several things- mainly runs the electrics for the car
4 years on an OE battery is considered very good
usually they last till just past warranty- coincidence or conspiracy?
Invest in a good battery- especially before a serious road trip

Well, I've had a few batteries go completely dead before I replaced them and never had any issues nor expenses, other than buying a new battery from Autozone for $80.

My current battery still starts the car right up, so I am not that concerned about it, but if I take a bathroom break at a gas station in bumf*ck, SC and my battery decides to die, I'll be a bit mad at myself.

I find it strange that the yellow top died already. Hell i have a red top thats still going strong after 10 years and its been drained and recharged more times than i can remember.

Everyone should find and write down the radio security code
When battery dies or is disconnected- you need this code- personal to your car,
in order to make the radio and nav units operate again

Many post on the subject of lost codes and remove radio to get serial number and go to dealer and .....

i have the stock one on my 03 CL-S and i believe it's dying. a few friends played with a few electronics (turning on my emergency light for 10 minutes, rolling down my windows, small stuff) and then i had to get it jumped started (radio was not on).

i guess it's time to buy a new one =\

Most part stores can run a FREE volt/amp test and a simulated load test- thats where most batteries show their weakness at, and then you can replace if neded

If a part test bad or very weak why would you wait?

If the trans was slipping or headlight fading- what would you do?
