D5 light on power up

D5 light on power up
Yesterday evening my car started flashing the D5 light during the power up/systems check. It will come on for a couple seconds and go out. (the "P" indicator stays on, as it should) Is this some kind of indication?

any recent work on the car- dead battery jumped?
try a system reset by pulling CLOCK fuse on passenger end of dash or passenger side panel by feet
after a minute reinsert fuse
that is the SECRET BACKUP POWER TO ECU!!! clears all codes and performs system test

I need to look at mine, but if I'm not mistaken, I believe mine has been doing this as well. I also haven't noticed any change in how it performs, but I'll keep an eye on it. If you find anything out, please do let us know. I have no CEL either.

Dont pull the fuse until you have the codes read.
Often times a flashing D5 is the trans temp sensor.

The owners manual says (Page 180) "The D5 indicator comes on for a few seconds when you turn the ignition switch ON (II). If it flashes while driving it could indicate a possible problem in the transmission".
From the video you posted it seems like it's doing what it's supposed to, being lit for a few seconds and then going out.

Thats a bulb check which is normal.
If the CEL is not on while the engine is running means that the code is stored and everything is ok at the moment.
If it were me I would erase the code then move the shifter through all P/R/N/D5/d4/d3/2 (Don't bother putting the shifter on 1 it wont move the range sensor) when cold or hot and scan it to see if it comes back. Also check the connector for the range sensor, corrosion or water in it make a bad connection. Its near the transmission fill bolt or oil jet.

"D5" blinking with P0705 code
If all the selected gear positions show up correctly with the shifter placed in that position.....then try what ErickUa5 previously suggested. It may be something as simple as cleaning the switch's electrical connector.
Check the wiring harness and ground also. Should the gear indicators not appropriately light up with the selected gear, it's possible that the gear position switch may be bad ?
