D5 Light Flashing
It could be acouple things. Id get it to the dealer as soon as possible to see whats wrong. Worst case scenario its the tranny. best case its something simple like a sensor (i had a tranny temp sensor go that caused the D5 to blink)

No one really knows what's wrong with his car and just like you suggested that it may be a tranny temp sensor because that was your past experience, whereas for someone else, their past experience may have been the tranny being replaced as a result of the dash lights blinking. In your 5 instances it has never had blinking dash lights but there have been more than a handful of members who have had that problem. No biggie...I guess as along as we are telling him the possibilities of what could be wrong, he will have an idea of what to expect when he does bring it in to the dealer.
I guess it could be a problem with the gearshift position switch in the center console... If that has intermittent contact the D5 light would go on and off - but it wouldn't be consistent.
Good luck.
Good luck.
