Custom LCD install questions

Ok. This is my first post to this board but have been reading for a while. I'm not sure if this is the right forum so don't get mad at me for the question... I'm trying to keep a completely stock stereo (for now) and have a stock looking dash board. Using an actuator and some cleverly placed gearing and cabling. I'm trying to set up an LCD touchscreen (yes, the famed Lilli) to slide out of the dash right above the 6disc changer then twist to face forward.

I've already worked out the mechanisms and all of the parts are lying on my floor half put together, but the next logical step is what scares me the most. I have no clue how I'm going to dismantle the dash board. Does anyone know the best way to be able to get the stereo removed and then replaced? I'm sure I'll get some responses about searching the posts, but I can't seem to find (at least close to) a step by step method I can safely use.

By the way, the install definately includes GPS, XM, 120GB of music/videos, slimline DVD/CD burner, etc... I'm planning on eventually using the setup to control all aspects of the car from the climate controls to preset window/sunroof settings. I'll take pictures as I go and post info if anyone's interested to see how it turns out -- it should be interesting.

Thanks for any help in advance.

acura-cl.com has a writeup on dismantling the dashboard
basically, you have to remove the center console first- then work your way up to the stereo.

take a look in the AV/Electronics section of the forums, both here and there

yo, that is tight... i would like to see how it turns out...
I would like to see you equipment, tools, and parts list....

To remove your stereo like DuckBlue said you can go to acura-cl.com, I thoughthtere was a post here, but I can't seem to find it.... Also on the web you can go to http://www.carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalAcuraTL.htm it will cost you like $5-$10 bucks, but they will give you the step by step instructions.... Also, Crutchfield does it to....

Good luck and post pics....

Thanks for all the info and links... all of it's exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to try and make all of the mounting pieces some time within the next week with the help of the machine shop where I work. They told me that'd it'd be an easy afternoon style job (with all the moving parts I was pretty surprised), so I'm looking forward to getting everything together within a week or so.

Oh, yeah, there's even gonna be a panic button (next to the dash light dimmer) to have everything slide back into the dash if I get pulled over by a cop.... or pull into a sketchy neighborhood!

Hopefully the next post you see will have pics of the finished product and not another question! Thanks again.
