Curious about Second Gen.
this may sound stupid, but i was wondering, how long will second gen's be around for??
i mean, i just got my car, im 18, and right now i have an 02 TL-s, so it's 3 years old... in a year or two when im estimating i will sell my car, will there still be a market for after market parts (ie.. h/i/p/e/kits) or will i have a hard time selling it then.
by then it would be a 4-5 yearr old car... will this forum and in general, be as big as it is now (everywhere i go i see a TL)..
thanks

the market will obviously be smaller for those parts, because most of the enthusiastic owners will have sold their older TL's off, but they also fit the '98-'02 Accord V6, so maybe that car will be somewhat of a "tuner" car then...who knows. Dont worry about that now, just drive you car and have fun!

I would reccomend accepting the fact that a car 99% of the time is a depreciating asset and should therefore be fully enjoyed, whithout worrying about resale in two years.

yea well i know it will depreciate....
but when i think of people driving old hooked up cars, only Integras, Civics and the like come to mind, but im new to the car world so i dont know much...
i was just wondering in 2 years will the 2nd gen still be as abundant as it is now, where i see at least 2 everywhere i go...
not so much the price of the items i was worried about, and not my car in general, i was wondering if people will still be "modding" TL's (2nd gen) in a couple of years...
question really is, when will the 2nd gen "fade away"?

In my opinion bad question...No offense
If car enthusiasts exist then a car will always be around. If my old 94 Volvo still has a decent sized aftermarket then anything can...

im 19 i just bought an 01 black/black tl i love the shit out of it and wil prob get tired of it after i pay it off... all depends on the person... if you love a car, then you take care of it and keep it, if not, then out with the old, in with the new

There will always be a market for the AV6 6th gen which means that we will always have a "demand" for parts. The Honda/Acura make has such a large following that I have seen more second gen TL's now then when I first baught my car two years ago! And even more "hooked" up ones. Being unique is getting even harder when everyone starts to drive the same car as you! sucks!
