CT icebox

I just picked up an icebox today from acura of woodbine and i should be installing it in the next few days hopefully.. just wondering if anyone out there had any problems or if there are any tips to get it done right the first time round.. it looks pretty straight forward so im not expecting any problems

ive already removed the resonator box from the car so do i still need to remove the front bumper or will everythng slide into place with it on?!?!

they wanted around 390 but i was able to get it for 355.. plus taxes of course.. oh and this is all in canadian dollars so dont freak out....

umm there are a few options out there.. but i went with the comptech becuase of the filter location and the stock appearance.... you can also look at injen and aem.... there are probably more out there but those are the 2 that come to mind.

isnt the comptech icebox the quietest of all the CAI's? I am thinking of getting one, though I did not know you can get them from the dealer? I have a stock 01 tl-p and want to do some minor mods, without adding much sound if any at all.

and also, do you have to have a comptech intake in order to intsall the icebox, or is the icebox the actual intake?

sorry for the dumb questions

ndawood, if you've already removed the resonator, I think you'll be able to install the icebox without removing the bumper again. You should be able to get the lower airhorn in through the wheel well. I removed the stock resonator box and did the install at the same time, so for me it was just easier removing the bumper.

GoldTL, the comptech icebox is the actual intake.

The resonator (in this case) is behind the bumper. It is there to help keep down the sound. After all, it is a luxury sedan.

Here's a picture of it (the black box)

If you haven't seen this, check this DIY out. It's very good.
http://www.abunchofcars.com/diy_page.../tl_icebox.htm

Have a old towel ready when you disconnect the coolant line. Some coolant will come out, so just be prepared. Not a lot.

I have the stock Comptech foam filter it came with.

so i got my icebox installed today and i can really notice a difference in the low rom band... up high it feels a little quicker

it costed $40 to have it installed and only took about 45mins

the car is definately louder but its a nice agressive note that i just cant get enough of!

now that this is done its on to the next mod!
