First Time At Track

Well I took my car to the track and I was satisfied with my times... from reading stuff on this forum.....i figured if i get low 15s i would be happy.... temperatures for my first 3 runs were horrible (you can see it on the timeslips) ... I am pretty much all stock... i didnt deflat my tires or anything ... and if you're wondering.. i was gate shifting at about 7200 RPM and so it would shift at about 7500 RPM.. here are my times

I'm #56

The first race was against a 300ZX twin turbo.. he said he didnt launch The second race was against a Tercel i was laughing too hard when i saw the tercel so i shifted kinda late and the rev-limiter would kick-in slowing my time. The first three races i forgot to turn off traction control

My times just get better as the temperature starts to cool down and i turn off traction control and brake torque between 2000-2500 RPM (which i did for every race)

My best time...this was against a porsche carrera... but it was an old model.. i lost this race cause i forgot to change in my dail time to 15.1 which i was going to... but it was my first time

Overall i think i didnt do too bad... im satisfied with my times and i had fun Time to start modding

Good stuff! Thx for posting your time slips, it's appreciated! Quick question: even though you got 15.10, you still lost? I don't get your explanation?

Its the "Dail" time... basically you predict your time before you race.... if you go faster than your predicted time .. you lose if the other car doesnt beat his own dail time... but if you both go faster than the dail time... the one closest to the time wins...... and if you both go slower than the dail time... the closest wins... i dont think all tracks have this.. its just for bracket racing at the end... it basically test your consistency to race

cars run better at sealevel. Our local 1000ft track is close...in a valley.
Compare my 13.01 @81 mph at 1000ft to your slips makes me feel good. My car was BONE STOCK with a dirty airfilter cutting that light. The Type S I've seen around here run is running 12.80s stock. The TLPs are pretty close on time slips @ 1000ft.

Man you should be pulling mid-high 14s with a Type S... Are you above sea level at all?? I can't wait until winter because it knocks at least .5 seconds off your 1/4. Get i/h/p and you should definetly be pulling mid 14s.

cold weather is good for a couple of tenths.
too cold will hurt though...warm up period on car performed correctly and it won't hurt anything though.
I looked it up...the guy with the stock TypeS that ran 12.80s here in 1000ft ran high 14s at Memphis (1/4 mile track).
