Crazy A/C Display

Crazy A/C Display
I decided it was getting too warm, so I turned the temperature control knob from 70 F to around where 65 F would be (around 9 o'clock on the dial). The display said "20", "A/C on", and the "Full" went away (it is supposed to say 'Full Auto').
After a minute of sitting there with a stupid look on my face, it changed to 65, it switched to "A/C off".
What the?!?
I eventually hit the "Auto" button to reset everything...and it went back to 65 on "Full Auto".
It's a 2001 TL without navi...anyone else ever see this?

Hi man, I had this problem last summer. There is a service bulletin on it and they will fix it free of charge. My dealer told me I must have been doing something wrong. I called Acura Client Services and the representative that handled my state told me to take it back to the dealer as they had been advised how to fix it. I did and I haven't had a single problem out of it again. I thing some part of the control panel had to be replaced.

Will the AC come on in FULL AUTO if the temp setting is set low (19c) ??? Just got my car last month and it is still winter up here in Canada. After reading the user manual I am not clear if FULL AUTO will turn the AC on. I guess the book isn't too clear on this one.
Thanks

I believe the climate control system turns the AC on if:
1) The windshield defogger is on
2) The temp of the air is hotter than the temp it needs to cool the car
Although, I do notice the car having a quick, massive power drain when the heat is on in the dead of winter...only an AC compressor would do that...

The A/C would occasionally kick in even during winter to dehumidify the cabin. It helps prevent condensation from forming on the window glass, and it helps keep your A/C plumbing dry during the cold months.

usually 72-76degrees, fan auto,
A/C on...
only days I have it "off" is when its like a dry winter day...
but when its snowing and stuff, having "A/C off" the windows fog right up....
when the display says nothing (you hit FULL AUTO) then overide the vent location and u have temp, auto in the display and nothing syaing AC on or off... is it on or off?

yeah the climate control is something that confuses me at times.
its true when you do the full window defrost, AC immediately turns on, unless u click on the AC button, then it will say AC off...
so this is supposed to happen?
Does have anybody have any metrics on the rules regarding climate control and what the lcd should say depending on what buttons you are pressing?
