Cracked Front Driving Light Lense

I just had to have my front drivng light lens replaced due to it getting busted by a rock in the road. I found out however, that you cannot just replace the clear lens, you have to replace the entire driving light assembly. $212 for parts alone. OUCH!!!!!!!!! The only reason they didn't charge me 2 hours of labor ($160 additional) is because there is a recall on the drivng lights due to the bulb's short life span, so they paid for the labor since they had to do the recall anyway. You would think that the lens would come as a seperate item, wouldn't you?

Yes it was the "02" model year. Sorry for the lack of clarity.

You can get just the lens from this site for about $40. However, Acura has them on backorder (I'm still waiting for mine).

What the dealer told me was that the recall was due to the bulb's short life span. I really didn't get into any further details, but it sounds like they simply replaced the bulb with one that had a longer life. It did seem weird though, that my dealer was able to absorb $160 of labor, for a bulb that can be replaced in 5 or 10 minutes. Maybe I just have a kick ass dealer.

i think tim has pulled it from the accessories page coz' it's on back order. i believe i was one of the first few people to order to lens and got backordered. ACP was very good in keeping me updated about the status.

if you want you can try some local dealers to see if they have some left in their storage.... that's how i found mine.

of course now with xpel it's much better. i highly recommend it.
