Couple Questions, Need some help thnx

Question 1 - I need a new EGR valve ( can only clean it out so many times) what brand should I buy?

Question 2 - Anybody know the peak watts output or watever its called of the 2000 stock bose radio ? Or any info on it ?! Lol I can't find anything on it,...I'm just curious I appreciate any input

Question 3 - Sorry its another Audio Related question, but the front and rear speaker on the passenger side is extremely low, I mess with the balance and fade and everything, I'm guessin this can't be blown speakers because they don't sound bad, just veryyy soft sound no matter how high I turn it up..any ideas ? Thnx guys

EGR Valve & Port Cleaning

I've been having light misfire and occasional rough idling problems for a while now, I've replaced all spark plugs (NGK Iridium), Went on to Replace all 6 Ignition coils as well, well the past few days it started idling funny again, and last night it deciding to turn off on me in a walmart parking lot when I first turned it on... Its time to clean this baby out,.. I've cleaned my EGR valve before when I did my coils, I was told to clean the ports also ? And something about cleaning my intake manifold ? I'm not mechanically challeneged, I'm just new at this stuff, I learn quick and have basic knowledge of cars, so please any help will be appreaciated,.. I need to know what to clean, what to buy, if I'm goin to need any gasket's or anything ? I wanna do it right the first time ya know... Thanks guys any info is appreciated

look in the diy section for egr cleaning- its with the thread titled thermoblock spacer install and egr cleaning

there are several threads on the subject if you look around.
3 cans carb cleaner, rags, a wire coat hanger
tools: socket set and torque wrench accurate at 16 foot pounds
try harbor freight tools or sears

extra parts not in diy- TB to manifold gasket and IACV Cover-gasket
so you can do a full service of everything while its apart

Deep Creep is an excellent alternative to carb cleaner and doesnt take much

Did you reset the ECU after the coil change? it needs that to learn of all the new parts and run a self test
Disconnecting battery neg cable- or the preferred method of pull CLOCK fuse on passenger end of dash for a minute, will reset the ecu

why 6 coils? was it getting multi misfire codes?

car year and miles?

the key to the job is cleaning the length of the egr passage inside the manifold , and each port at cylinder

plus the 2 holes valve sits on= those are the end of the length!

lube egr valve operating arm

@ 01tl4tl, thnx bro on all the info.... and yea i had 3 coils that were legit shot lol... misfire in all 6 cylinders, it was bad, its a 2000 tl with 143xxx miles... the fluids are always clean looking, never low (unless purposely when im flushing or goin to change em), trans is (knock on wood) running strong, i just had to replace my Oil Pan this past weekend, the drain plug was shot, i wanna run Sea foam thru the engine, but i think itd be smart to wait until im close to the next oil change i dont want to waste perfectly good mobil 1 extended life synthetic oil =P lol as far as the intake manifold, i might tackle that this weekend, i like the peace of mind knowing ive done everything i could to keep her running strong lol.. and yup i always reset the ecu after any sensors are unplugged

Thank you for merging the threads... i apologize for that, i use my fone alot for the internet.. blackberry internet sucks lol

while manifold and TB are off the car- flip TB over and remove round cover plate
thats why I said buy TB to manifold gasket and IAC cover gasket- in case they tear.
Inside is a rod with an air slit in the side- the IAC `rotary valve` its called
lift tab to release and pull out- clean tube slit and where it fits into to rotate.
make sure the keeper is back in place when done and it moves easily with throttle motion

typically a sticking iacv prob you get a surge of a few hudred rpm
but anything is possible.. and everyones gets dirty

correct on waiting on the oil till ready for change
OK to do gas tank method 1 can to just under half tank twice,
or 1 time gas tank, and master vac port method- that gives instant results in certain areas
you can do those now

dont forget the TB air plate- the large round plate that moves with throttle.
get both sides of it and the edges as clean as you can with carb cleaner or deep creep (preferred as it lubes hinge pin)

I do the throttle cables inside their sheath too, hold cable up and gently spray DC or silcone or WD in
harbor freight, or bicycle shops sell a $3 `cable lube tool` that makes the job clean and quick..the motorcycle shop wanted 15$!! for the exact same tool!
it clamps onto cable sheath at end, has a small hole you insert the spray can tube into and have at it!
