Exclamation Frustrating foglight HID issue. PLEASE help!

So now that it's a 3 day weekend, I had 4 mods on my list.

1) Lexan foglights *done*
2) 8000k HID swap *NEED HELP!*
3 projector lens retrofit w/ 6000k bulbs *DNS*
4) foglight mod v2 *DNS*
But I digress...

The kit is the slim ballast 9006 HID kit from HIDextra (pretty sure he's a vendor here.)

Basically only the passenger side fog light works with the HID kit. Both kits work on the passenger side, but neither work on the drivers side... What confuses me the most is that the halogen bulbs still work on both passenger/ driver side fog lights.

If both kits work on the passenger side, neither work on drivers side, BUT the halogen bulbs still work on BOTH sides... what could be the issue? I have absolutely no idea what could be the issue, which is why i'm so frustrated.

Dumb question I know, (I don't mean to make you feel dumb) but your wiring on the drivers side, wiring the kit, is it correct? Positive to positive, negative to negative?

Oh possible high resistance.
Does the driver side (with halogens installed) appear to be dim?
(HID's take a substantial amount of current, if there isn't enough it won't be enough to "jump start" the HID's). And won't turn them on.
I'm not an expert on HID's.

All of the wiring for the HID kit is correct, and the halogen bulbs are very bright when installed. I haven't tried starting the car with the kit in, but I wouldn't think it would make a difference.

The problem is that the polarity on the side that does not work has the polarity flipped (ex: on the passenger side yellow is positive while on the driver side it is negative). Stick a multimeter in there and you'll see. That's why it worked with the halogens but not the basalts.

You can cut a notch in the socket or cut the wires and flip them (black to yellow, yellow to black).

It varies driver/passenger 02/03 but one side always has the polarity flipped.
