Could it be transmission again?

I'm just wondering if my transmission could be slipping again. It doesn't do it all the time but it does it enough to be noticed. Well, when i put the car in gear and start to accelerate, it revs up, jolts slightly as if it just went in gear and then moves. (btw im not talking about the jolt that the brakes make when going in reverse). It also happens when: Lets say i make a U-turn and i didnt make it fully through and i need to go in reverse real quick. I mean i brake to a full stop and then switch it to reverse and it seems like it doesn't catch immediately that i put it into gear. It happens also when i put it in D5. This is just ridiculous if its another transmission problem. My first transmission went out at around 400 miles on a 03 TLS and now my car's at 9178. Any comments would help..thanks

I think the "BANG" that results when throwing the car in Reverse is normal. I have heard several people describe a loud noise when they throw the car in reverse.

As for the gears catching, try waiting a second after you throw the car in gear before stepping on the acclerator. I've had that problem before in my previous 2 cars, and was told that I was stepping on it too soon after I switched from reverse -> drive or vice versa and that I should wait 100% until the wheels have stopped moving before switching gears, and I should also wait a second before stepping on it.

That BANG is not normal and anyone experiencing it should take a trip to new tranny land.

Sorry dude, your tranny needs a new home

My TL has always been a bit slow at going into gear. It's definitly at least a second+ after putting it in D5 that first gear catches.

Other than that its been fine and the TL is at about 28k last I checked. It does not make a bang but if you have the window down while changing from D to R you can hear clanks. Acura says that's normal.

Only problem so far was the rattling sunroof (knock on fake wood). Fixed under warenty.
