Cost to replace mounts for 1999 TL

The car has vibration at idle. The dealer said front mount needs replacement and asking $448. Then i took the car to an auto shop for 2nd opinion and the mechanic said all mounts need replacement (rear/side/front motor and transmission). He is asking USD750 parts and $350 labor. I asked why the labor is so expensive and he said it is a 6 hour job and need to lift the engine.

How do i know i need all mounts? and didnt got ripped off? If you had mount replaced before, how much did y pay?

$750 just for the parts? Check out Rockauto.com or even eBay or Amazon for aftermarket mounts.. something like this: 1998 2002 Honda Accord 3 0L Engine Motor Transmission Mount KIT 5pcs NEW | eBay

Check ebay.. I jus got my front engine mount w/ vac line for 78. and side engine mount for 56. Both Beck/Arnley Mounts. (2000 TL) Or you can check your local parts stores...

And you can check the DIY to try and attempt to change them yourself..

^^^ Yeah, forget the dealer and their crazy high estimates for replacing mounts.
Check around online sites such as Rockauto, buy quality brand aftermarket parts at a savings over OEM stuff. Probably can get all the necessary mounts for less than $200. Also check your local auto parts store pricing.

Then check around at a local independent auto repair shop or an alignment shop for an estimate on installation. Shouldn't be much more than $200 for labor. Save your money !!!

its odd to need ALL the mounts!
Its not unusual to need a front every 75kmiles,
then when its not noticed for another 30k or so it wears out the passenger side mount,,
For the others to fail requires driving more with both the main ones broken!! it can be done but difficult

the front and rear are fluid filled and vac boosted- eithers failure causes engine miss and roughness, all others are normal solid rubber type

Probably a good idea to clean the Tooter valve at the same time.
