Cost of 6mt conversion with original motor?

Ok so my transmission acts up occasionally and has trouble getting from drive back to reverse and park quite often so I'm worried that the tranny might fail me soon (over 175,000 miles already)

If my transmission fails I want to do the 03-xx accord six speed since I heard you can get one new for 850 from a dealership. I was just wondering what the total cost would be for ecu and mounts and shop and stuff if I just got the 6speed and not the type s engine and all that jazz

^ would it be a bad idea to do the conversion and keep original motor? I was gonna get a tsx or rsx-s for graduation but if my transmission dies I thought I would just be losing alot of money parting out the car rather than just fixing it and keeping it

Use the search button more often this stuff has been covered. If your going to pay someone to do it like a shop you can add a few more K to the total bill. If your going to spend the time and money use the type-s motor also check into the modules if you insist on keeping your motor.

^ I'm sorry I know you get sick of people asking but when I searched I never saw a price quote for swapping the tranny if you have a tl-p and aren't switching motors

Price quote would be the same, just take the price of the motor out. the extra wiring would be the price of the modules.

Money money money money. MOONNEEY.

My motor was fine.. didn't need to be replaced. My 4 speed automatic transmission went out and I was way out of warranty. They wanted $2800 for the new auto trans and I put in the used 6 speed for about the same. I'm fine with not having everything running right.. for now. It runs and gets me to work and school which is all I need from it right now.

Talked it out with parents, I'm gonna wait it out. No point spending money I don't have on something I may not ever need. If my transmission was more messed up I would get the loan but I'd rather get my car paid off first. I owe less than 2k now

Yea if your trans is fine now, just wait it out. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I had my TL completely paid off and took out a loan to do the swap.
