cop chase while racing

last nite, two cars tailgated me one by one. the first one is a VW GTi VR6(manual) & the other one i believe it's a ford contour S.V.T. we then both stopped at the red light, GTi on my left & ford on the right, & i decided to go for it. we both floored, i headed the GTi by 1/4 length & ford by 3/4 on the 1st & 2nd gear. once i shifted to 3rd gear, i was heading the GTi by 1 car length. of course, the little ford was a little way back. as my babe has only 2700miles, i did not push her too hard & shifted to 4th at around 6700rpm. damn that 4th gear!!! GTi easily passed thru me by almost 3 car length in just seconds. however, the GTi suddenly slowed down. i then immediately slow down a little bit & watched fm my rear mirror. oh sh?t!!! cop(s) was chasing us. i kept going & passed the GTi. it was so lucky that only one cop & so pulled over the ford. i then quickly took the exit & ran away. i may go in jail if get caught as we both doing over 100 at a 45 zone.

Well, no offence, but you probably deserve at least a fine for going over 100 in a 45mph zone.

That's just silly and you're likely to kill someone.

My $0.02

Consider yourself lucky! I used to drive at insane speeds until I got my speeding ticket. I'm happy that I got caught when I wasn't going that much over. Get a good radar detector and use good judgement when speeding around the city.

Where in NJ were you able to do that ? (don't worry, I'm not the cop that was following you).
Just be careful man, and always make sure if your gonna do something like that, make sure that your not putting other bystandards in danger. I've done alot of stupid sh-t like that in my life, so I can't really condone you. But your lucky and take it as a lesson for next time.

You lucky S.O.B! Read the post about speeding tickets and read about my ticket. There were two of us and the cop was determined to get us both. Anyway I don't want to tell you to not do what you did, as I have done **** like that myself. Just keep a look out in the rearview...

You prob wont be so lucky next time. Don't sleep on an SVT Tour though. I had one. One with intake, cat back and a good driver can give you a good run at high speeds. I used to hold my own with the local GTP's all the time. But i had, magnacore wires, bosch platinum +4's, msd ignition, kkm cold air, borla cat back. SVT stage 3 headers. 1.5 limited slip, 100 shot of nos. I was pushing 60 in about 5.8-6.2 usually, and the quater at low 13's with nos, low 14's without. Those little 2.5 liters love mods and love to breath at high rpm. So watch out.

The police were probably in a parking lot someplace and saw you guys and gave chase. For whatever reason, they don't seem to be doing that here (in Kansas). The kids street race on the main streets after dark openly and I've never seen the cops pull anyone over. If you want to race, it's open season here and relatively safe. 100mph in a 45mph is not the brightest but it's not all that awful in a place like rural parts of Kansas where the roads are wide-open and you can easily see almost a full mile in front of you. But yes if you get caught, it's probably jail.

yeah, i know i was a little silly & that's the first time i did that. i didn't even realize i was going 100 at that time. apart fm that, i will always concern other drivers' safety. it was late last nite & the road was clear with no cars upfront.

I posted this on a couple of other threads, but I gotta tell everybody!

"Tonight my car was pulling like a g*dd@mn freight train! I went five exits past my house just to wring it out and smack it off the limiter for a third time! I did it twice in one night a couple of months ago. Let me tell you guys, once you hit 5400 in fourth, this car WAKES UP and TAKES OFF! Especially with the AEM CAI!"
