Cool Mod if you have tips

I don't think I'm the only one with this problem...

I have the 3A Racing tips (3.5 x 9) and I found that with my OEM Bodykit, the tips seemed to sag downwards, which didn't look all like the comptech look. Today I did a little experiment which worked to my surprise.

I went out and bought some heavy duty cable ties at canadian tire, and tied it around one of the metal brackets on the muffler/tip part, and attached that to the frame of the car. The more you tighten, the higher the tip is raised. Now my tip is about 2cm away from the rear skirt, and it doesn't touch at all when going over bumps.

Plus, when people see the car from the back, the tips are perfectly level with the bodykit.

It looks soooo much better IMO.

good luck...if you need any more info on this, PM me.

ya I figured I wasn't the first to figure this out.

Does this affect your exhaust at all, since you put more stress on them due to them being pulled upwards more?

All I can say is dont put it too close to the Rear Lip, cuz you might get black rings form since they do get hot in the summer time. Just be careful about that.

maybe, but most of your flex is at the engine, that y u have a flex pipe there, but as u did it, if u still have some movment in the pipes it should be fine, but if u have the pipes in a way they cant move a 1/4 inch then there might be a problem.

You can adjust the tips to flush in with the car. Don't really see the purpose of this.
